After crossing the river, go ahead than soon take the muddy path to the left. The straight and tall Red Gum trees lined on the both side stretch to a distant place along the path. In a background of the hill range of Kai Kung Leng, the reeds along and the inverted image of trees and clouds reflected on the pond fashion a natural peaceful landscape. With the fresh aroma of woods, it offers a bucolic atmosphere. Afterward, it comes to the famous wood pier at the pond. Some photographers and even professional crews of television and film had been there for their shots. Moreover, there is also a popular spot for wedding photos. Head the path, it then joins Nam Sang Wai Road alongside Sang Pui River. It soon passes through a large open grassland where is to be careful because sometimes there are some people to play their remote control toy planes.

Along the Nam Sang Wai Road, it passes a wetland on the left located at the intersection of Kam Tin River and Shan Pui River. There is also a spot for watching migratory birds with information boards for the guidance. On the other side, there are some abandoned little huts at the fish ponds that recalled the lift pattern and the style of old villages. Heading to the junction, cross the river (Kam Tin River) by taking the bridge on the left and then follow the path to go through under the highway bridges. Beyond the distribution center of vegetables, it soon comes to Castle Peak Road. Passing through the subway on the left, it heads to Hung Mo Kiu bus stop at the opposite side (the way to Yuen Long).

Summary

It is a easy walk for families and picnickers. Along the path, it provides picturesque scenery with bucolic aura, especially for the Red Gum trees, the ponds, the weeds along them and the wetland for watching birds, like an oasis among the concrete jungle. However, the green place and the industrial area are only separated by a river. It is doubtful whether it could be preserved for the long time.
